Born in 1960 in Bombay, India, Sunil Puri immigrated to Rockford, Illinois with only 18 years of age in 1979.

Sunil has a vivid memory of his arrival to the United States as he first touched American soil when he landed at JFK airport in New York City. After settling in Rockford, Sunil worked multiple jobs to support himself through school as he attended Rockford College. In 1984, just five years after moving to America, Sunil founded First Midwest Group - a real estate development and investment firm. Today, First Midwest Group is one of the region’s largest and most known real estate companies and continues to thrive thanks to Sunil’s leadership and the amazing people working there.
